Great Sand Dunes Engagement Session- Brittany and Eric
I can’t wait to share Brittany and Eric’s super fun engagement session at the Great Sand Dunes National Park. This session had SUCH epic views. I could photograph here all day every day and never get tired of it.
If you haven’t been to the Sand Dunes before, drop what you are doing and plan a trip! It’s a bit of a drive from Boulder, where I live (4 hours south!) but absolutely worth it! The Dunes rise up just beyond the parking area and you can see the Sangre de Cristo Range peaking up behind them.
When I’ve been to the Dunes in the past, it’s been blindingly bright and sideways blowing sand. Today, we had AMAZING spring weather. Bright sun alternated with clouds every few minutes and the Sangre de Cristo mountains had incredible, dark, and deliciously moody rain clouds hanging over their peaks. Moody cloudcover is right up my alley so I was sooo stoked and definitely had “photographer’s high” throughout the session. You know, talking too much, being way too excited, etc. 😂 Basically in my element!
I ran up and down these dunes so many times I literally could not walk straight for two full days after because my thighs were still pumped from all the effort. 💪
In case anyone is wondering, the maxi dress Brittany is wearing is from Lulu’s and one of my own from my client closet. This dress is super flowy and just perfect for windy places. I’ve been keeping this one for just the right desert location and Eric just happened to wear a matching shirt. (The is probably the one time I’ll advocate for such closely matching outfits.)
Congratulations on the start of your life together, Brittany and Eric!
(Note: Photography within the National Park requires a CUA Permit, which you can find here. Please support our National Parks and photograph legally.)
